Senior Product Designer

Overview

Oboe’s mission is to make humanity smarter.

We're looking for a full-time Senior Product Designer to help us unlock the future of learning. This is a hybrid role based in NYC, with partial time in the office and partial time working remotely.

As our first product designer, you'll lead the visual design of our suite of educational products, as well as our initial branding, design thinking, and UX research initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, particularly engineering, to create intuitive, innovative, and user-centric products.

This is an individual contributor role. While there may be room for growth of the team as we scale, this will be the only full time design role for the foreseeable future.

Qualifications

• An ability to move lightning fast, a willingness to experiment, and complete openness to getting things wrong.

• At least 5+ years of professional experience designing consumer-focused tech products.

• Experience designing for web, iOS, and Android platforms.

• Professional experience at a large consumer tech company, building complex scaled products.

• Professional experience at a small consumer tech company, ideally as the only designer, where you were able to design without reliance on existing design systems.

• An intuitive grasp of creating intuitive user experiences.

• A strong portfolio showcasing product design expertise.

• Fluency in design tools and software.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• A passion for learning.
